CFA History

In 1981, the Christian Fellowship Academy was founded as a private Christian school built on the sprawling property located in Westmoreland County near the cities of Greensburg and Jeannette, Pennsylvania.

The Academy was started because church leadership came to the realization that the Word of God requires that children be trained daily, precept on precept, to see the world through God's eyes. CFA is an integral and inseparable part of the church. The ministry of CFA is one example of the church in action.

Christian Fellowship Academy first opened its doors with administrator and founding father, Wendell Bossart, to students from Pre-School through 5th grades. The program grew from pre-school through 5th grade to pre-school through 8th grade within the first three years. In 1983 came the addition of "Discovery", a program for learning-disabled children.

Supporting all aspects of Christian education, in 1990 the academy began the institution of Support Services for home schooling families including enrichment classes, services and materials. CFA holds membership in the Association of Christian Schools International and the Mid-Atlantic Christian Schools Association.
