Did you know that a child spends 35 hours a week for 13 years (kindergarten through 12th grade) in school? For some, that means 16,380 hours of secular humanist indoctrination. The average church-going, Sunday School- attending Christian child, during these same years, will have a total of 676 hours of Biblical instruction. That's a whopping 4% of the amount of time spent learning the Bible, and 96% of the time learning secular humanism, the official doctrine of non-Christian schools. Is church and Sunday School alone enough to counteract the overwhelming influence of humanism on our children's minds? The answer in emphatically, "No!"
Our American education system originated with the primary purpose of teaching children to read the Bible. Many of its early Christian founders were, in fact, pastors who based the curriculum on the Bible and it's principles for Godly living. Things began to change, however, in 1948 with a series of Supreme Court decisions that secularized schools by forbidding prayer, Bible reading, religious symbols, and the teaching of Biblical moral values. Educators trained in John Dewey's teachers' college brought secular humanism into all public schools. Academic and reading levels have also declined steadily since that time; not to mention the loss of our youth to the world's values and morals.
Recognizing this paradigm, in 1981, the Christian Fellowship Academy was established in Westmoreland County. Its vision was, and still is today, to provide an opportunity for children to receive a Christ-centered education.
As each student at CFA is "taught of the Lord" on a daily basis, he learns that Jesus Christ is at the very center of his life; 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. He acquires a Christian world view by learning that it is through God's Word that everything he thinks, says, and does must "filter". Humanistic thinking, secular philosophy, or new-age ideas could never pass through a "Christ-filter".
Where will YOUR child spend his 16,380 hours of educational training? Whose philosophy and beliefs will form YOUR child's world view? Can YOU honestly deny that SUNDAY SCHOOL, IS NO LONGER ENOUGH?
